Perennial Mushroom Garden How-to

3-hour workshop
 –

Lunch & Learn

Join us for a morning of mushroom gardening as we create ideal mushroom habitat outdoors and inoculate these areas with choice, cold-hearty culinary mushrooms.

This workshop will conclude with a fungi-inspired lunch served outside in the gardens.

Learn to build perennial mushroom gardens

Learn about choice culinary varieties that thrive in our climate

Learn how to select and introduce choice culinary fungi into your garden or food forest. Make use of these shade-loving species to maximize food quality production in areas where veg would struggle and add to the variety of your harvests.

Turn waste into food

We’ll be making use of readily-available wood and cardboard waste to create ideal mushroom habitat in our gardens. Learn how to identify ideal mushroom-growing conditions on your site and prepare mushroom beds.

Enjoy a mushroom menu here in the garden

This morning workshop will conclude with a fungi feast in the garden featuring varieties we’ll have planted earlier in the day. What’s not to love?
